My Family's Business

Three Mad Potters is owned by an explorative homeschool family with two teens.

We’re from Prince George, BC, and we stared our business in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our family has always been extremely creative, pouring all our fun ideas into many different forms of art. After attending Leanna Carlson’s pottery classes for some time, we found a new favourite way to create. Leanna opened the door to unending 3D possibilities through clay. We eagerly learned more and more about clay until we were able to make beautiful, well-made, strong mugs. And now we’ve become real potters! Working as a family on our business, we have become even more of a team. We will keep growing our skills in pottery, communication, and teamwork development. Even in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, our family has pushed through to start our pottery business. It’s going to be fun, new, and even complicated for us at times, but we’ll keep at it!

The Deliverables

Our business has grown over the years, as it has grown, our content needs have too. For a small business, in the beginning the main need was for a profile photo and business cards. That later grew into gift certificates, printed sugar-saver instructions, and high quality photography.

This was really my first long-term project as a graphic designer, and I have loved learning new programs and skills to enhance our business since starting this project as a hobby back in 2021. My passion and skills have evolved so much since then, and I continue to enjoy working on deliverables for this business as our entrepreneurial and branding needs shift. What started as one logo has become a realized family brand a life-long joy, setting me on the pursuit of graphic design.
